Lifeline Program

equipment_480

The RSVP Lifeline program provides an emergency response telephone system to give access to emergency response services for low-income, frail and homebound seniors, enabling them to feel secure, increasing their self-sufficiency and thus being able to remain independently at home rather than prematurely institutionalized. The Lifeline Program makes it possible for the wearer to have instant contact with a Lifeline representative or personal responder (family member, friend, neighbor, etc.) 24 hours per day just by pressing a button worn on the wrist or around the neck. Lifeline then reaches the prearranged volunteer responder to determine if it is a life-threatening situation where the client cannot speak. If so, then emergency personnel are dispatched.

RSVP volunteers install Lifeline telephone systems and help monitor their activity.
