Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program

Nevada receives funding from the USDA Food and Nutrition Program each spring to provide free coupons for fresh fruit and vegetables to seniors 60 years of age and older, whose annual income does not exceed $19,240 for an individual who receives one booklet or $25,900 for a couple who receive two booklets.  The program is a cooperative effort by USDA, RSVP, the Nevada Department of Administration – Commodity Food Distribution Program, the Nevada Department of Agriculture, the Nevada Certified Farmers’ Market Association and the Nevada Division for Aging Services, whose purpose is to increase the consumption, production and distribution of locally grown fruits, vegetables and fresh unprocessed herbs, while supplementing nutritional needs for seniors.

Stay tuned for information and dates for this year's coupon distribution.
