Home Companion Program
The RSVP Home Companion Program offers an innovative approach to basic services for the elderly, disabled and others in need of short and long term services that allow them to remain independent and in their own homes rather than prematurely placed in a care facility.
RSVP Home Companions not only provide the basic needs of homebound seniors but equally important is the emotional support that is so necessary to the confined elderly. These are services that might be performed by family members were they readily available, which in most cases they are not.
Home Companion volunteers assist persons in need with the home services described below. These are a guideline of services but not restrictive as to duties that could be performed within the program philosophy.
- Companion, Visitation
- Take Shopping or Shop For Client
- Install and Monitor Lifeline Units
- Read, write Letters, Pay Bills
- Transport to Doctors, Dentists
- Telephone Check-Ups
- Pick up Prescriptions
Your reward will be knowing that you have made aging easier for some elderly persons needing that little extra help to be able to remain independent and in their own homes.
